Exploring the mythical spots and hidden pearls of our capital’s largest district Lasnamäe
Bus tour:
Start 14:00 Nordic Hotel Forum, back 18:30 from Laagna Community Garden
Programme at the Laagna Community Garden (Võru 11):
17:00 – 18:30 Polina Cherkasova’s garden concert
20:30 – 23:00 LasnaKino screening: “14 Cases”
A bus tour invites us to explore the mythical places and hidden pearls of our capital’s largest district Lasnamäe – from the Zanzibar restaurant to the communal cabbage patches and Pae Park. We’ll delve into the district’s history of the “microraions” era, its unrealised grand plans and future potential.
After the bus tour everyone can stay in the Laagna Community Garden to enjoy the concert and take part in the film screening for free. We’ll listen to a trilingual fairytales-meet-real-life-stories performance by musician and anthropologist Polina Cherkasova. The screening of the documentary “14 Cases” examining the challenges of Estonia’s Russian-speaking population will be preceded by an open discussion (in Estonian and Russian) with the film’s director Marianna Kaat and its protagonists.
The Lasnamäe bus tour tickets for 20 euros are on sale at the TMW webshop. A meal at Zanzibar restaurant and transport are included in the price.
Garden concert and LasnaKino screening is free of charge.
The TMW Lasnamäe programme takes place in collaboration with the NGO Lasnaidee. The LasnaKino screening is supported by the British Council.
