Shiftworks launches an open competition to find a Head of Festival for Tallinn Music Week (TMW).
A suitable candidate is expected to have experience in leading complex and multifaceted processes. His or her main tasks will be to achieve the qualitative and business goals of the festival. The future Head of Festival should also have the capacity to upgrade the competitive edge of one of the leading new music and city culture festivals in Europe. The future Head of Festival will also be responsible for leading the festival team’s everyday work, based on the values and objectives of the TMW brand.
Helen Sildna, the founder of TMW and CEO and owner of Shiftworks, the company that organises TMW, will focus on the overall integral development of the company, and within TMW she will continue to contribute to activities at a strategic level.
“Over the past 12 years, TMW has made a significant impact on creating international opportunities for Estonian music,” says Sildna. “Our festival team members are experts in the music industry, we are confidently on the map of events in Europe and strong as an organisation.”
Sildna adds that in the future, she will focus on developing Shiftworks as a company and will continue at TMW on a strategic level, “It is time to hand the daily work of running the festival over to a new person. At the same time, I am not going anywhere far. Instead, I will focus on developing the portfolio of services that Shiftworks offers, and develop projects with strategic impact, using the competencies we have in events production and communication. The role and positive impact of arts, culture and creativity on the development of society will continue to be the main driver of my work.”
Candidates are required to submit their applications until 21 December 2020 at konkurss@tmw.ee. Work will start in January 2021, with a 3-month trial period.

Launched in 2009, TMW is one of Europe’s leading new music and city culture festivals and a networking event for music and creative industry professionals that takes place in Tallinn, Estonia. The mission of the festival is to support the internationalisation and professionalism of Estonian music, as well as presenting Estonia and Tallinn as an attractive tourism destination. The most recent TMW that took place in August, during the post-lockdown coronavirus period, boosted international and regional tourism as well as the entire cultural sector ecosystem.
The next TMW will take place on 6 – 9 May 2021.
